Pike Place is the public market overlooking the water in Downtown Seattle, WA. John and I rarely make trips to Seattle but when we do, we like to pop in here to restock on artisan food, take in the bustling environment, and look at the old musky shops full of comics (for him) and antiques (for me). Something for everyone, I guess.
The upper level is more open air and has fishmongers, fresh produce stands, local crafts, and florists. You'll find an interesting selection of vegetables, fresh and live seafood, fancy pasta, and artisan cheeses. The first Starbucks Coffee shop resides at 1912 Pike Place since moving there in 1977.The sign outside this branch, unlike the others, features the original logo of a barebreasted siren.
