In a combined space of restaurant, cafe, outdoor terrace and basement bar, Momo - playfully dubbed London's original Arabic Den - first opened it's doors in 1997. We were escorted to a beautifully appointed tea salon and enjoyed a wonderful Moroccan afternoon tea at a great price! You can choose to have your tea outside on the terrace or inside in the moroccon cafe. Once our eyes fell on the cafe we looked forward to enjoying this space. It was a relaxing experience by attentive but casual staff.
The bites were daring and innovative using North African and Mediterranean influences such as curries, marzipan, and sesame uncrusted sweets. I found the savouries to be exciting but didn't have the palate for african sweets. They were beautifully done for marzipan fans, which I am not.
If you are looking for a respite just off Regent street this would be a good choice. The tea is more than generous so you'll leave very full, maybe even over full but delightfully so. A very nice tea experience by all accounts.
