The Farm House Natural Cheeses in Agassiz

On our way to Harrison Hot Springs to stew in lukewarm water with senior citizen tour groups, John and I made a stop at The Farm House Natural Cheeses, where we were greeted by their ambassador - an affectionate farm kitten!

This is a small family dairy farm which raises Guemsey and Brown Swiss cows without pesticides, hormones, or antibiotics. Their cows produce milk that's richer in A2 and beta carotenes which results in a finer cheese.

On site they have a beautiful cheese shop with a window to the area where they make the cheese to be sold in discerning shops such as Urban Fare and Granville Island's Benton Bros Cheese Shop). We first sampled the Farm House cheese many years ago at the Steveston Farmers market near our home. Gelato is also available, but it was too cold for us to indulge.

After selecting a few cheeses to bring with us to the hotel, I came outside to see the cat sitting on J's head. Surprising since a.) J hates cats and b.) he's also very _allergic_.

We were invited by the groundskeeper to do a self guided tour of the barn. Sensing our hesitancy, he escorted us inside and couraged us to carry the newborn kids (just a few days old). Later we checked out the pigs who seemed a little too cool for school but very content in the shade. A fun and rustic visit where I left with armfuls of cheese. What more could I ask for?
