Yolks Breakfast for Lunch

by Ivy Haisell in Vancouver

Chicken and Waffles? yes please.

Chicken and Waffles? yes please.

The Yolk's street food cart has temporarily set up shop at the Vancouver Art Gallery while lunch time favourite, Re-Up BBQ is in the shop for collision repairs. It is unpredictable when they'll be at the VAG so you'll need to check their twitter to see their location.

I had their infamous chicken and waffles. The chicken was juicy but the breading was hard and difficult to chew. Thankfully the gravy softened the panko. The waffles were also delicious but not memorable. I paid the extra to have real maple syrup which I don't regret but I do feel like this is something that should already be provided.

I enjoyed my meal but I wouldn't have it again. They do cook eggs exceptionally well so my recommendation would be to stick with their bread and butter - concoctions with delicious orange yolked eggs.
