Chocolate Peanut Butter Rice Crispie Squares

by Ivy Haisell in Recipe Lab

Fans of Reese Peanut butter cups should like these. I joined the Reddit Snacks Exchange and decided to treat my trade to some homemade Marshmallows. I had 4 cups of extra Vahlrona Chocolate Marshmallows scraps left over. Too ugly to serve people, and too tasty to throw out, I decided to make some bars for Jong. I hope you like the recipe.

INGREDIENTS

4 cups of Chocolate Marshmallows (recipe here)
2 tbsp butter
A pinch of salt
4 cups Nature's Path Rice Crisps (or Rice Crispies)
1 cup natural peanut butter
5 tablespoons of butter, softened.
1 cup icing sugar
Plantars Salted Caramel Peanuts

Use cooking spray in a 8 inch square pan.
Melt the butter on low, careful not to brown the butter.
Melt the Marshmallows on medium low until completely smooth. Add salt.
Add the Rice Crisps and mix until nicely coated and all brown.
Press into the pan, and smooth out with an lighly greased offset spatula.
Set aside.

Whip the butter until airy.
Add the peanut butter and beat until combined.
Slowly add powered sugar and whip until smooth.
Spread over the bars.
Sprinkle peanuts over the bar, and put in fridge to chill.
Serve when cooled.
