Barista: Review

When in Rome, do as the Romans do. When in Portland, drink coffee and do brunch. John and I booked a snazzy suite on Air BnB and spend a dirty weekend doing the local thing.

Barista is ranked as one of the top 10 coffee shops in the United States. With just cause. It's not intimidating, great decor, nice branding, unpretentious, and pretty damned good coffee.

John is here for the coffee, and he can vouch it's good. Barista showcases the best coffee roasters around. This company leads the charge of the new coffee movement. Much to his delight, they do pour overs.

Now my job is to taste the pastries. This is where many coffee shops fall off the rails, and I'm sad to say I've had some great ones (Lucky's with 49th) and some terrible ones. I was not disappointed here, however. The treats were tasty with a good assortment.
